1980: The first Asia regional meeting with the name “Asia Peace Research Association (APRA)” was held in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan on December 5, 1980.
1984: The second Asia regional meeting of peace researchers was held in Tokyo, Japan.
1991: The APPRA Conference with the theme “Peace and Security in the Pacific Region: Post Cold War Problems and Prospects”, held in February 1991 at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand.
1994: The APPRA Conference with the theme “Conflict Resolution in the Asia-Pacific Region: Cross Cultural Perspectives on Problem Solving and Peacemaking”, was jointly hosted by APPRA, the Asia Foundation, and the University Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia, May 22-26, 1994.
2001: In Tagaytay City, Philippines, 8-10 December 2001, with the theme, Reconstructing Peace Theories and Practices in Asia and the Pacific;
2003: The APPRA conference with the theme Visioning Alternatives to Violence; was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia on 22-24 August 2003.
2005: The APPRA conference with the theme “Peace, Justice and Reconciliation in the Asia-Pacific Region”, was held on 1-2 April 2005, at the Australian Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (ACPACS), University of Queensland, Australia.
2006: a discussion meeting with the theme “Sixty Years After World War II: Lessons for Peace Building”, was held on 5-7 January 2006, at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India.
2009: The 2009 APPRA Conference was focussed on the theme of “Innovation and Change: Peace Research, Studies and Education in Asia-Pacific” was held at the College of Indigenous Studies, National Dong Hwa University, Shengfou, Hualien, Taiwan on September 10-12, 2009.
2011: The APPRA Conference with the theme “New Agenda for Peace Research in the Asia-Pacific” was held on october 14-16, 2011, at the Ritsumaiken University, Kinugasa Campus, Kyoto (Japan)
2015: The APPRA Conference 2015 was organized in Kathmandu (Nepal) with the theme “Pathways towards Just Peace: Reinventing security, justice and democracy in Asia-Pacific” on October 9-11, 2015. Chetanalaya, Arc and APPRA co-hosted the conference in Kathmandu (Nepal).
2017: The APPRA Conference 2017 was organized with the theme ‘Promoting Peace and Upholding the Transcendent Dignity of the Human Person in the Asia-Pacific Region’ on 23-25 August 2017, by Centre for Policy Research and International Studies (CenPRIS), Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang (Malaysia).
2022: The APPRA Conference 2022 was organized on “Redefining Peace Toward a Just, Non-violent, and Sustainable Future of the World” in collaboration with University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (India) and Indian Political Science Association on 10-12 October 2022 in Guwahati (India).
